Our Experiences
A driver (transportation was included) picked us up from our resort and brought us to the docks where the dinner cruise starts. We chose to arrive about an hour early so that we could walk around the area and enjoy the scenery. There is a hotel and yacht club right there so there are also opportunities to sit down and have a drink.
Getting started, the boarding process was fairly standard. Shoes off and put and a basket, everyone find a seat, quick safety brief, and were were off. This was group dinner cruise so there were other parties on board. This was not listed as a “booze cruise” type of boat so the other people were mostly couples looking to have a romantic evening, as were we. The boat was full but there was still plenty of space to move around as they did not overcrowd the vessel.
As we departed, we immediately knew we were in for a treat as we quickly began to pass small islands that seemed untouched by man. The staff quickly and efficiently walked around and took drink orders for those that hadn’t already made their way to the bar. And it was a pretty well stocked bar. Everything from beer and wine, to gin, tequila, and whiskey, all included in the price. During this time, other staff began warming up the grill and cooking.
After everyone was loosened up, the crew dropped a floating net behind the boat and allowed people to put on life jackets and enter their “salt water jacuzzi”. Everyone that wanted to, had plenty of time in there. Some staff continued to cook while other continued to cook, and others managed the boat. A very well executed operation.
While they were cooking, we began to get a sense of the feast we were about to undertake. We expected enough food for someone to call dinner, but we did not expect to end up stuffed. There was so much food and so much leftovers. Everything from chicken to beef to vegetables cooked an the grill to perfection. Then came the sides. Plenty of salads of different varieties. Tons to choose from.
We ate to our hearts content, went back for seconds, and seeing that there was still plenty of food left, went back for thirds. We typically don’t eat that much, but the food was just that good.
After dinner, the sun began to set and we sat back and relaxed, full and content, with another beverage. The sunset was amazing and at times, it felt like we were the only boat on the ocean.
Arriving back in port, we docked, grabbed our shoes, and the hotel driver was there waiting for us. This was one of the better sunset dinner cruises we have been on and will absolutely do it again when we go back.
