Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour (Hong Kong Hotel) – Two Perspectives Review
His Perspective
Rating: 5/5
Would I go back: Yes
Would I recommend: Yes
Comments: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would definitely return if I visit Hong Kong again. I found the beds to be pretty comfortable, but the pillows were too thin for my liking. Even stacking two pillows wasn’t sufficient for me, though I do consider myself a bit of a pillow snob.

Comments: I loved the hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. Everything from the lobby to the rooms and everything in between was clean and well attended. The Lounge Access upgrade is a steal, and we took full advantage of the breakfast and Evening Cocktails with Canapes (AKA dinner). I agree that the pillows were a bit thin but the cocktails helped me sleep just fine.

Our Experiences
We stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Check-in was fast and they provided easy to understand information about the hotel and the local area. The hotel is modern with great features from fast elevators to soft close doors on the rooms, so you don’t hear your neighbors coming and going.
The room was clean and featured two things we both enjoy: a comfortable mattress and a nice shower with both rainfall and normal shower heads.
We upgraded to the “Lounge Access” plan and did not regret it. This plan includes complimentary breakfast from 630am-1030am, complimentary afternoon refreshments from 3pm-430pm, and complimentary evening cocktails with canapes from 530pm-730pm. Here are some details from each:
Breakfast
We were expecting a light continental type breakfast. What we got was a full buffet consisting of everything from local to international, from soups to omelets. This was a full breakfast spread that will satisfy any taste, of any age. At certain times of the day, the line to get a table can be pretty long. If you upgraded to the “Lounge Access”, be sure to stand in the “Club” line, which is much shorter and faster.
Afternoon Refreshments (requires Club or Lounge Access upgrade)
The refreshments are truly meant to be just that. Not a meal, not even close to it, but just a VERY light snack and beverage. They offer a couple light finger foods and desert type pastries, along with soda, juice, tea, and coffee.
Evening Cocktails with Canapes (requires Club or Lounge Access upgrade)
Now, I am going to be honest with you and tell you that I had to look up what a canape was. There are several definitions for it but suffice it to say that it is basically light appetizers. Canapes we were promised, canapes we did not get. Instead, we got full meals. Nowhere near the spread of the breakfast buffet I described above, but still full buffet meals consisting of everything from salad, to various international entrées, to desert. Each night was a different main feature, and we fully enjoyed every night but one. The one we didn’t fully enjoy was still enjoyable, just not as delicious as the other nights. If the other nights were 4/5, the “bad” night was 3/5. Even if you don’t fancy the main dish, there are other options from sushi to basic like chicken caesar wrap sliders. Something for everyone. To top it off, you can’t forget the cocktails. Free flow wine, champagne, beer (local cans), and limited spirits are available, along with mixers.
Pro Tip: Get there early as the prime tables fill up quick.
